

Impact young lives - become a Coach!​
Coaches play a huge role at Wattle Park Saints – without coaches, we don’t have teams.
All players and parents at Wattle Park Saints have benefited from our coaches – guiding our young players, leading our teams, setting an example for the club.
We’d like to encourage all our players from U15+ and any parents to consider giving coaching a go. To register as a new or returning coach, please fill out our form.
Players of all levels and parents with little to no basketball experience can all make great coaches – it’s about providing an environment for fun, learning and teamwork. The club will provide guidance on training plans and drills.

Parent coaches are responsible for:
-
Running 1 x training session each week, including drills and instruction
-
Attending and coaching 1 game x each week, providing guidance to players and managing the rotation of players on/off the court.

Receive a Wattle Park saints polo shirt and game day kit bag

We have limited paid positions available for Junior Coaches interested in coaching a Junior team in the Summer 2025/2026 season.

You must be at least playing U15s and above and would like to coach a junior Saints girls or boys team

You must be studying full time
-
You can coach individually or in pairs.

Coaching induction and training will be provided by the club.

$500 payment to each junior coach or $300 each if they work in pairs in a shared coaching arrangement. Payment is made in two installments across the season.

Game day kit and Wattle Park Saints polo shirt is provided.

Wattle Park Saints will also consider payment to Junior Coaches for Basketball Accredited Training that coaches successfully complete to move through the accreditation levels. Coaching Accreditation Levels (Lowest to Highest) are Community, Club Association, Performance, Master.

Recognition certificate given at Presentation Day – a great reference for future employers plus we can give you a reference - handy for future applications.

What's the commitment?

The coach will have to be available for one hour training session per week and for game day (2 hours).
​
What kind of experience is needed?
-
Played several seasons of basketball at domestic or representative level.

Basketball skills and drills knowledge an advantage.

What kind of support do you get when you sign up to be a coach?

You have the club resources of Junior Coach Coordinator & Age Group Coordinator, plus a Team Manager to support you.
